Project Description
This utility is designed to remove a Dynamics CRM plugin and all of its associated steps from the CRM database.

This is sometimes required after upgrading a Dynamics CRM 4.0 organization to CRM 2011 and having one or more plugins registered "on disk." After the upgrade, these plugins cannot be removed because of the steps that the Plugin Registration Tool performs to register/unregister an assembly.

KillPlugin is designed to remove such plugins.

Usage
KillPlugin is a command-line utility that accepts the following arguments:

Option (short) Option (long) Description
-u --URL Required. URL to CRM server. Example: http://crm2011/contoso
-n --username User name
-p --password Password
-d --domain Domain name
-l --pluginname Required. Plugin Name
--help Display this help screen

Examples
KillPlugin -u http://crm2011/contoso -n administrator -p password -d contoso -l fancyplugin
KillPlugin -u http://crm2011/contoso -l fancyplugin

Notes
  • The plugin name should not include the .dll. It is just the name as shown in the Plugin Registration Tool.
  • In the case of a "lost" assembly, where the assembly was registered "on disk," it may be necessary to put a copy of the assembly in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM\server\bin\assembly folder so that the removal process can actually find it. After the assembly is removed, you may safely delete this assembly from disk.
